Nesting within

Ever wonder what makes us settle where we are, who we are with...i bet lot of people out there dont have to think of all these, for some it comes and goes, for some they simply live with it.

As i opened my front door and saw this nest in the little high bush in front of my house, i was so honored, i said thank you to the bird, i saw her lay eggs, i saw her hatching them, feed them, protect them, then one day....no chirpy sounds, no beautiful sights of them birdies....

i miss you all, wherever you are, have a happy life, thank you for choosing my abode for the few days you really needed to.

muuah.

_ From May 31, 2010 - finally posting it....

Take it back...

Wow! Since i've got my 3G, i feel like i'm partying non-stop! Well atleast in my head, after i've put in some interest to load my playlist....it totally rocks to my beats. I love it.....a little bit of me in each song, i pick up that vibe and just go with it. While brushing and dancing with fine men, John Abraham, Ranbir Kapoor nad Salman Khan.... at 5.20 in the morning, i was high.

Grabbed my chai, all chores under the belt, productive morning, then it started....

My mom totally cracked me up, she was telling me these stories about this girl who just packed her bags and came to see Milky akka's cousin....

Warden and mates ...not so much

My friend calls to check in on me and asks....if i'm ready to go back to boarding school????

I enlisted help from my housekeeper for 3 days a week, the hanging status of my clothes is sorted to bring work ones ahead of the rest, need to shop for winter shoes, (mental note...need to buy shampoo darling), changed T's school from PT to FT.

Recycled curtains, my tees, t's shoes, gave them away to goodwill et al. So, i guess i'm ready for something, not sure if it's for work.

She replies, "Linku, you should have been married to a billionaire, you are just too much, she says".

I'm ready to go back to "school" and meet my warden and other mates.

As of Oct, 1, 2010 - old one out there....

As of today - back to work, love everyday of it, hired another housekeeper and she does what she can and i'm ok with it.

Walk it, slut!

Society is guilty of many things, one such injustice is cropping up everywhere these days and is questioning the deep thoughts behind it. That is, are women "asking for it" when they dress in a revealing mannerAre they sending messages that they want to be disrespectfully treated??? HELL NO!!

Read on : Toronto 'slut walk' takes to city streets - Toronto - CBC News

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-13320785

As I read the news i was dumbfound thinking are men really such insecure people. Ofcourse, the people that this article refers to have an attribute of perverseness, but what about regular men?. As much as i was torn, between, what i know now and how as growing up a majority of girls  in india would have felt, i challenged myself of what i felt about this.

Surprisingly i had some sour thoughts about "Indian celebs" and thankfully not of regular people. Celebs do it for a reason, it's another story, so i left it at that. Now, coming to regular people, people we live with, our moms, sisters, our girl friends, our colleagues,  our kids even....do we subconsciously judge them for dressing non-conservatively or vice versa.

Stomping in London!
As an adolescent, i picked up vibes from women on how they dressed around me. People openly condemned or made harsh judgments of women otherwise. Subconsciously, a message is sent to the young minds that what we dress is what we think and how we expect others to think about us. So if you dress up conservatively, you give a msg to the people around that you should be treated conservatively and so forth.

But as i grew up, i was strong enough to make up my mind, i met people from all types of backgrounds and realized we are more than how we clothe ourselves. Our thoughts are a separate entity form our way of dressing. Ofcourse, when we are in a professional environment, it calls for a certain way of dressing, yet, men or women should never stoop to think that women deserve anything less just because they dress in a way that shows more skin than the other "plain jane". No women should endure indecencies by public because of the way she chose to dress.

India, indian people have long ways to go on this route. I'm so proud that New Delhi held its first slut walk. I'm happy there's open dialogue to let people think about it and hopefully this welcome change will come sooner than we anticipate.

Meanwhile, to the sluts of the world, work it sister :)

Ammi and I

What a way to have started my day today! thanks to a phone call from M that just lifted my spirits. However, i h

There are things about mom's that can just throw you off guard. Even after we are grown up, they never cease to stop giving advices and show who's the boss.

The first time i put my eye liner on, she said - atleast you look like you have some pretty eyes. I'd rather would have heard her say- thats looks nice would have been enough ; )

I was telling my mom about the mothers day luncheon at T's school today. how i have to rush and have to catchup with her later, bang then she says, "zara achay dhang ke kapde pehno".

I was like "WHAT" mamma, there is only person in this entore world who can get away with saying that,a nd i cant beleive you said it. Its a week late but hi! i was looking forward to hang out with him and lunch our hearts out in.

Who do you think should win?

I see them everywhere....

Holding hands walking across the streets,
While walking the dog, the synchronised steps in the walk,
Fingers knitted harmoniously sitting in silence in the train,
Sitting in his lap with her arm around his neck,

these are not visions of one couple, these are couples from different backgrounds of life, different races, different age groups...as i go about minding my own, i happen to notice couples in my day to day life....

Before now, it used to feel like such cute moments, after "before", the derisiveness in me just wants to tap on thier shoulder and say get real. But the gentler side of me thinks out loud, how sweet.

Caught between these two crazy states of mind, i stay focused on task at hand.

Life is not easy, T, some days it's such a struggle, it beats you up. Dont get sucked into it, it's a moment, its a illusion of slipping away, hang on to what you need to and you'll make it through.

i cant change

the way it affects me each and every day

It's not so much the change but accepting of what it is.

Could it have been different?

Would i prefer it any other way?

I keep reading now to go to If land and i'm trying my best....

Grown up

Here's the thing, i have thing for lego's. I get antsy and mildly annoyed when my son has hard time building the lego set. Anyway, he picked the legends of chima few weeks ago, after the brunch at a Classic diner few weeks ago, taran and i decided to build it together. While iw as bossing him around he felt naturally intimidated and moved on to play with his toys while i got exactly what i wanted, to build the chima all by myself. God i'm a terrible mom :(

so that sunday turned into 3 sundays, and y'day on friday i though ti'll surprise him by completeling it, before he comes back from school. however, he came early and caught me in my act, he was so happy.
